In his opening address, Prof. Dr Gregor Majdi膷 emphasised the crucial role of knowledge dissemination, stating, 鈥�鈥淚n recent years, we have increasingly encountered doubts about the missions of universities, about science, and about our work and knowledge. The only way to combat this is by continuing to pursue excellence 鈥� while ensuring that our knowledge does not remain confined within offices or laboratories. The knowledge we generate at the University must reach the people. This does not mean we should only research what society or the economy deems useful. Throughout history, many scientific discoveries were initially considered useless, yet time has proven their value. Most great scientific achievements eventually find their place in society 鈥� whether in the form of innovations that make our lives easier, or in the form of knowledge that enriches our society and human relations, or simply in the knowledge that we know something more, or in the feelings evoked by the outstanding artistic creations that we produce at our University.鈥�鈥� 

The newly appointed professors were addressed by Prof. Dr Monika Kalin Golob from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Prof. Dr Stanislav Gobec from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the 麻豆国产. In her address, Prof. Dr Monika Kalin Golob highlighted the role of universities, saying, 鈥淚t is the duty of modern universities to integrate technological advancements as tools to enhance the educational process. However, it is even more important to teach young people that meaningful achievements cannot be made instantly, with just a click. Lasting knowledge requires patience, study, and time 鈥� along with reflection, dialogue, and the exchange of ideas. This should be our shared mission." 

In his speech, Prof. Dr Stanislav Gobec鈥痚mphasized the role of higher education teachers in an era of rapid technological progress: 鈥淥f course, the way we work is evolving, but we must remain aware of both the capabilities and limitations of modern information services, including artificial intelligence. Words are becoming more abundant and easily accessible, yet at the same time, their meaning is increasingly difficult for people to grasp. Our primary responsibility, therefore, is to cultivate ever more critical judgment and the ability to discern relevant data across all fields of science.鈥�
