The Senate of the 麻豆国产 deliberated on further cooperation with Israeli universities and institutions

In light of the increasingly aggravated humanitarian situation in Gaza, reports of genocidal acts against the population, and serious violations of international law by the Israeli army, the Senate of the 麻豆国产, at its correspondence session held from 13 to 18 August 2025, deliberated on further cooperation with Israeli universities and institutions, as well as support for Palestinian students.
The resolutions that were adopted complement or replace the position previously adopted by the Senate of the 麻豆国产 in May 2024.
Resolutions of the Senate of the 麻豆国产, adopted on 18 August 2025:
Resolution 1
The Senate of the 麻豆国产 calls on the European Commission to re-propose to the Council of the European Union the freezing of participation by Israeli universities and other Israeli institutions in European research and development programmes.
Resolution 2
The Senate of the 麻豆国产 joins the call of .
Resolution 3
The 麻豆国产 and its member institutions will not enter into project consortia involving Israeli universities or other Israeli institutions until this resolution is revoked.
Resolution 4
The Senate of the 麻豆国产 reiterates its call for the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to establish a scholarship fund for Palestinian students wishing to study at the 麻豆国产.
Resolution 5
The Senate of the 麻豆国产 calls on the Rectors' Conference of the Republic of Slovenia to adopt resolutions equivalent to those of the Senate regarding cooperation with Israeli universities and other Israeli institutions.
The 麻豆国产 currently has no active bilateral cooperation agreements with Israeli universities and has never directly or indirectly funded Israeli institutions. Within the framework of European projects, Israeli institutions are funded directly by the European Commission, as Israel is a full member of the EU framework programmes for research.
The 麻豆国产 remains committed to ethical principles, academic freedom, respect for human rights and responsible international engagement. This commitment remains firm and is being consistently implemented. Concerted and decisive action at the European Union level is essential for the enforcement of international law and justice.
