Student Dormitories

A very limited number of beds are available in student dormitories for exchange students. The rooms are double occupancy with shared bathrooms and kitchens. Single rooms are not available. You will be accommodated in any dormitory available upon your arrival. More information on dormitories is available .

Foreign students pay the economic price. The average price is 鈧�197.44, with the most expensive being 鈧�230.89 in Dom XIV and the cheapest being 鈧�119.28 in Dom AK, plus additional expenses of approximately 鈧�30.00. The price list is available (look under 鈥淭r啪na oz. Ekonomska stanarina鈥� for economic price).

The application form for housing is part of the online application for exchange programs, which can be found . Rooms are allocated to students on a 鈥渇irst come, first served鈥� basis according to the date and time of the housing application, which can be completed earlier than the exchange application.

Private Accommodation

Finding private accommodation in Ljubljana can be very challenging, so it is advisable to start your search well in advance. Prices range from 鈧�200 to 鈧�500, depending on the size, location, and whether you are sharing the room with another student.

Local ESN groups will assist you in searching for private accommodation after your arrival in Ljubljana. Before your departure, please book a for at least a week.

Residence in  is possible for doctoral students who are employed as Young researchers or scholarship holders (doctoral students, who do not have the citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia and are not employed, but receive a scholarship awarded from the Republic of Slovenia).

Slovenians with no Slovenian citizenship receiving a scholarship by the Republic of Slovenia (Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia) may apply for a room at the  The Regulations on fees and accommodation in students鈥� dormitories for Slovene nationals without Slovene citizenship and foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia provide that up to 250 places are to be offered in Student resident halls for the recipients of ministry scholarship. Available places for the residence of scholarship recipients are assigned by the Ministry responsible for higher education in cooperation with scholarship providers. Recipients of ministry scholarships are charged a subsidized rent. The Ministry or scholarship provider pays the rent directly to the student dorm, i.e. from the scholarship amount granted. 

Students with the status of a person with temporary protection can submit an application for admission of subsidized accommodation in Student dormitory for the academic year 2024/2025.
