Are you a student with special needs? Then you can apply for special needs student status during your studies at UL, which will enable you to receive support and various adjustments to help you complete your studies and overcome obstacles.
Status of a student with special needs
Who can apply for the status of a student with special needs?
- blind and visually impaired students or students with visual dysfunction (e.g. students with partial or total loss of sight);
- deaf and hard of hearing students (e.g. students with partial or total hearing loss);
- students with speech and language disorders;
- students with severe specific learning difficulties (e.g. with reading and writing difficulties such as dyslexia);
- physically disabled students;
- students with long-term illnesses;
- students with autism spectrum disorders;
- students with emotional and behavioral problems/difficulties.

- - The Slovenian Association of Disabled Students advocates for the interests of disabled students and runs support programmes.
Other websites are only in Slovenian.
- - Bravo Association for Children and Adolescents with Specific Learning Difficulties offers support for students with specific learning difficulties.
- - The Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired is aimed at blind and visually impaired people as well as people who have difficulty reading normal writing.
- - In the student residence, special care is taken to accommodate the different categories of disabled people and, if necessary, their accompanying persons. In Residence 5 and some other residences there are special rooms for wheelchair users, which have a special standard and equipment. They are accommodated under the same conditions as other students, but have priority for accommodation.
- - The publication Student Voice is a collection of articles written by students from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Arts. It contains professional articles about students with disabilities and personal stories of people with disabilities.
- - Dyslexia - A Guide for Tutors is a handbook designed to promote the development of identification, support and assistance measures in the field of higher education for people with dyslexia.
