CONDITIONS FOR THE POSITION (from the job description):

• Higher education university degree in Biology (former program) or completed Master鈥檚 degree in the field of Biology
• PhD in Botany (former program or 3rd Bologna cycle)
• Valid habilitation title: (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor) in the field of Botany
• The candidate fulfils the condition if he / she has a valid UL title or the valid   title of the Guest teacher at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate does not have an election to the above mentioned titles, but he meets the qualitative and quantitative conditions for election to these titles, he can apply for the job vacancy, in which case, together with the application, he / she shall also provide evidence of compliance with the above criteria, accompanied by a statement, in the event of a decision by the selection committee, the application shall also be considered as an application for election to the title or for the recognition of the equivalence of the title. 
• Knowledge of the Slovenian language at the level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate does not meet this condition at the time of job placement, he / she must complete it within three years from the date of employment.  
• Supervision of at least one undergraduate, Master鈥檚, or PhD thesis.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in exercises or lectures of botany for students in biology study programs.
• Good knowledge of the Slovenian flora.
• Scientific publications in the fields of Systematic Botany and Plant Biogeography.
• Preference will be given to candidates holding a category B driving license and with experience in botanical fieldwork.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Designing and updating syllabus, and adapting higher education study programs at the first, second, and third cycle levels to requirements ,
• Organizing and co-organizing all activities for the realization of the course in accordance with the syllabus and expert's findings, coordination of work and supervising other employees of the course (assistants, technical and other co-workers),
• Lecturing students, managing seminars and other pedagogical activities of the course,
• Managing, evaluating and correcting exams and tests,
• Directing art work and research work, directing the study activities of students and mentoring students with the execution of their thesis and other works,
• Scientific-research and artwork, study and development of concepts, theories and methods.
• Ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees and students of the unit, providing appropriate training and education for persons who come into contact with hazardous substances or field work, use personal protective equipment, and other safety measures
• Performing other tasks that fall within the broader professional scope of the job
